After 12 years serving customers through building completely custom homes, Bloom Construction’s founder, John Decker, was well acquainted with the intricate and more complex journey that he, his customers and his team members needed to face when designing and building a custom home from scratch. Starting from scratch means no plans, no specs, no selections, no budget, no schedule, and maybe a piece of land, although sometimes not even that.
Having been involved in this completely custom approach to building many times over, John noticed that this approach suited some customers great, but was overly custom for others. There were too many decisions to make, too much time needed to be dedicated to hiring architects and designers, designing a home, budgeting, scheduling, meetings, site visits, selections, and countless other requirements that must be met to build a bespoke home. These experiences led John to question how could homes be delivered that were designed to a high standard with enriching architecture and high quality like a custom home, but without all the hassle? How could the process be simplified and require less of the customer’s time, but still keep them informed and involved? How could he better help all of his customer’s build and thrive?
A Better Way.
Ultimately John determined homes needed to be Built Different, built a better way. Reflecting on projects from over the years, John identified key areas of the home building process that needed to be rebuilt, rethought or replaced. He designing and implemented key processes in the areas of site selection, plan curation, finish selections, job costing, scheduling, quality control, project management and client communications. These systems and processes ultimately culminated to form Bloom Construction’s proprietary Built Different Building System which includes innovative project management processes and Home Collections, our very own pre-planed, pre-curated, pre-priced collections of classically designed homes to give you a jump start on your journey to your dream home.

Bloom Construction’s proprietary Built Different Building System ensures your home’s construction is held to a high standard and keeps you informed of the cost, progress, and schedule of completion on a regular basis. Bloom Construction has partnered with Buildertrend, a state-of-the-art project management software, to give you access to all of the information you need anywhere you have access to internet. Review the daily logs to monitor documented progress, examine the published schedule and budget to oversee important dates and expenses, drop a message to your construction team or access your plans on your time, day or night!

Bloom Construction has partnered with talented architects and designers to meticulously design and artfully pre-curate our proprietary Home Collections for you. You don’t have to worry about hiring the right Architect or Designer or even picking out anything if you don’t want to. These homes are remarkable, classically designed, pre-priced with designer finishes, have optional up-grades and are Ready-To-Build or Ready-To-Purchase. Save the 6 months to 12 months typical in designing and planning a fully custom home. Simply choose one you love, request the changes you would like, and we will take care of the rest!

Hey! I am a husband to my beautiful wife Mary Kathryn and a father to our sweet boy John Walker. I have been fascinated with houses since I was an early teenager. I have spent more than a decade serving clients as a Licensed Home Builder. I have a passion for both the art and science of home construction and really love to collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, designers and trade contractors to deliver timeless properties that will enrich the lives of their owners.
